"BIG THREE!" - This Is Us, 9/27/16

Image
Deep breath. "First came, me and Dad said, 'Gee.' And then came me, and Mom said, 'Whee!' And then came me, and Dad said, "That's three." "Big Three.  BIG THREE!" Good news, "This Is Us" has been picked up for a full season (an additional 5 episodes, making the season a total of 18 episodes.) The news broke hours prior to the airing of the show's second installment and of course, the episode did not fail to disappoint. It was filled with that goodness of Campbell's soup on cold, wintry day and topped off with a cherry of a twist from an ice cream sundae. The emotions are still there and this was an episode where we got to look into the different windows of the character's lives. As mentioned elsewhere, the second episode picked up later in time. Jack and Rebecca's triplets are around 8 years old, maybe 9 and we open with a scene in the kitchen. Rebecca is busy being the super-mom she is making lunch

Presidential Debate 9/26/16 -- My thoughts

Image
Last night was the first Presidential Debate between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump.  Who won? The Democrat in me says Hillary Clinton and yes, I will be voting for her on Election Day.  But to be honest, the debate had no clear winner. Depending on which side of the political spectrum you lean toward, you will say your candidate won.  What I do know and feel is that Donald Trump is not qualified to be leader of our country. Yes, that is the Democrat in me speaking, but if you look at what transpired over the 90 minutes, can you honestly say you want Trump as President, regardless if you are Democrat or Republican? I wasn't able to pay close attention to what was going on because the activity on Twitter was as exciting, along with a 3year old distracting me and a 1 month old asking for his next bottle (thankfully Daddy took care of that), but I was to get that Trump liked to interrupt Clinton whenever she spoke and sniffled a lot.  What

Is that Jack Bauer in the White House? No, it's the "Designated Survivor"

Image
Per Wikipedia : Designated Suvivor -  In the United States, a  designated survivor  (or  designated successor ) is an individual in the  presidential line of succession , usually a member of the  United States Cabinet , who is arranged to be at a physically distant, secure, and undisclosed location when the President and the country's other top leaders (e.g., Vice President and Cabinet members) are gathered at a single location, such as during  State of the Union addresses  and  presidential inaugurations . This is intended to guarantee  continuity of government  in the event of a catastrophic occurrence that kills the President and many officials in the presidential line of succession. If such an event would occur, killing both the President and Vice President, the surviving official highest in the line, possibly the designated survivor, would become the  Acting President of the United States  under the  Presidential Succession Act . Kiefer Sutherland made his return to TV

Must See TV -- NBC's "This Is Us"

Image
This past Tuesday, a new show aired on NBC titled, "This Is Us" and I think the network has a new hit.  When the trailer premiered earlier in the summer, it had received so many hits.  From what I read, it was one of NBC's most anticipated shows for the Fall season. After seeing the first episode, I can see why. The show stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia (from  Heroes, Gilmore Girls), Justin Hartley, Sterling K. Brown (newly minted Emmy winner), and Chrissy Metz, along with a few others, but those named above are who the stories are centered around.  When the show opens, we see Mandy Moore playing a very pregnant Rebecca and Milo Ventimiglia -- rather, his bare butt in the first scene, as Jack.  It's his birthday and I guess their tradition every year is a sexy birthday dance followed by some sexy time for the both of them.  Unfortunately, they never do get to the sexy time because Rebecca's water breaks and it's time for their triplets to make their de

Oh, the sleep deprivation

Well, I am back and a lot sure has happened in the past month. We are now a family of four, having welcomed my baby boy, Logan Daniel on August 21st.  That was a memorable day, considering he was scheduled to be delivered on August 23rd (also Charlotte's birthday) but he had other plans.  Or better yet, he decided he did not want to share a birthday with his older sister.  I say good for him.  When I had his c-section date scheduled, I wasn't too keen on August 23rd, but my doctor said the 22nd wasn't available.  He ended up making his own plans on his debut because really, babies run the show, not the adults. Ha! And they really do.  I haven't slept more than 3 hours a night since he came home last month.  Such is the norm with a newborn baby in the house. I am hoping he turns a corner soon and starts sleeping longer stretches at night. At most, all I want it five blissful hours of sleep.  1AM to 6AM sounds ideal. Here's hoping that comes soon, but that all depen
